The safety, health and well-being of our mutual patients has always been our top priority. Whether this is through the care we provide or the environment of our surgical facilities. Our internal policies and procedures have always exceeded federally mandated guidelines to protect our patients and staff. Our commitment to provide your patients the safest care throughout this evolving situation is not something we take lightly.
We always have and will continue to go above and beyond to ensure that we are exceeding the highest standard of care and customer service.
Here are a few extra precautions that we are taking, but not limited to:
• Monitoring guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization.
• Following the news related to local conditions on an hourly basis.
• Increasing the frequency of our sanitation practices inside and outside our surgical facilities.
• Wiping down our waiting rooms, chairs, counters and door handles hourly.
• Providing additional hand sanitizer to patients.
• Allowing our patients to wait in their cars or outside our office and notifying them when we are ready for their appointment.
We are also asking our patients a few questions to help mitigate any potential exposures. These questions are:
• If you are a patient who has traveled outside the US within the last month
• Had contact with someone who traveled outside the US and was/is now sick
• Had contact with someone who was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus or the flu
• Are you experiencing any of the following symptoms: Temperature, Active Cough or Trouble Breathing
If you answer yes, our doctor will be informed and will take appropriate action to protect patients and staff.
Sincerely,
The Doctors and Staff at SVII

Gum disease has been linked to a variety of health complications including heart disease and low birth-weight babies. Until now the majority of the treatment options available were invasive and painful. LANAP is minimally invasive and does not require the cutting or stitching of the gums!
The Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP®) is a minimally invasive type of gum surgery that uses lasers to remove bacteria and diseased tissue. As a leading provider of laser dentistry in Harrisonburg, VA, the Shenandoah Valley Implant Institute recommends LANAP® for the following reasons:
LANAP® is most often recommended to patients with moderate to severe gum disease. This is because it allows us to remove bacteria and infected tissue without causing harm to the surrounding bone, teeth, and healthy tissue. While traditional gum surgery uses a scalpel to remove the infection, LANAP® utilizes a new technology called the PerioLase® MVP-7™. This is a new type of dental laser that operates at a frequency which affects only the diseased areas and leaves the teeth, bone, and healthy tissue untouched. Not only does this minimize pain and discomfort, it also reduces the chances of further complications.LANAP® is more than just a minimally invasive gum surgery. It will actually help to restore the surrounding areas and reverse any damage caused by gum disease. This is done by using the Periolase® MVP-7™ to stimulate these areas and promote regrowth. By doing this, the SVII doctors can help improve your teeth’s support structures and reduce the chances that future tooth loss will occur.LANAP® has been proven effective through decades of scientific research from around the globe. It has even been granted marketing clearance by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In fact, LANAP® is widely considered to be one of the most advanced forms of gum surgery available. In order to become a licensed practitioner, one must complete rigorous training and education courses. The doctors at the Shenandoah Valley Implant Institute are some of the few selected professionals to complete this process. If you have moderate to severe gum disease, you may be a candidate for LANAP®.
